About the Initiative
The African Union's Economic, Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) is proud to launch "Solidarity in Action," a landmark campaign to amplify African voices and priorities during South Africa's historic G20 Presidency.
Under the transformative G20 theme of "Solidarity, Equality, and Sustainability," this comprehensive initiative marks a decisive shift in global governance. We are positioning African civil society not as petitioners, but as co-architects of a fairer, more inclusive world order.
Over one month of coordinated events, we will bring together African civil society organizations, AU Knowledge Partners, diplomatic missions, and global stakeholders to elevate African priorities on critical issues—from democratic AI governance and gender-responsive peacebuilding to economic inclusion, debt sustainability, and climate justice. Our mission is to ensure African voices shape global governance for a more equitable and sustainable future, aligned with Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want.
