Launch of the 2nd edition of the Young Africans Writing Contest (YAWC) & The Policy Booklet on the ‘Migration Policy Framework for Africa' (MPFA) highlights.
-Mr. William Carew, Head of ECOSOCC Secretariat, said that free movement needs to be prioritized if we are to reach continental integration goals, and seize development opportunities highlighted in Agenda 2063.
-ECOSOCC Presiding Officer, Mr. Denise Kodhe encouraged young African writers to keep honing their craft, beyond YAWC, and to use their writing skills to voice their viewpoints and concerns on issues facing the continent, like migration.
-Miss Asianut Daniela Odong, winner of last year’s YAWC, said that YAWC is a platform for young African writers to speak on issues that matter to them; and that writing is an advocacy tool and stories can revolutionize society.
