ECOSOCC, the African Union's advisory body, was established in 2004 to integrate civil society into AU policy-making. It consists of 154 CSOs, ensuring inclusivity, gender parity, and youth representation. The General Assembly, its top decision-making body, will hold its Second Ordinary Session in December 2024 in Nairobi. This session will focus on leadership elections, achievements, and Africa’s development challenges. ECOSOCC fosters collaboration on issues like climate change, youth unemployment, and gender equality. It amplifies civil society’s voice in shaping AU strategies and policies.
