Background:

The Africa Dialogue Series (ADS) 2025 concludes on 30 May, with the High-Level Policy Dialogue discussing the theme "Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations."

Hosted by the United Nations Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (OSAA), the UN President of the General Assembly (PGA), the African Union Permanent Observer Mission to the UN (AUPOM) African Union; the Economic Social and Cultural Council (AU-ECOSOCC)and partners, the HLPD is an interactive, forward-looking platform for global leaders and experts to discuss actionable strategies for accelerating Africa's development.

Key Objectives:

This ADS aims to stimulate informed reflection on justice for Africans and people of African descent and encourage meaningful dialogue on reparations.  It provided a platform for partners and stakeholders to assess the effectiveness of current international strategies and frameworks concerning reparative justice for Africans and people of African descent, and advocate for policies to boost initiatives that enhance financial, environmental, economic, and social justice. 

The media are invited to cover the opening ceremony on 30th May 2025 at 3 p.m. (EST) in Conference Room 4, United Nations Headquarters, New York.

All media representatives need to be accredited to attend in person during the High-level Policy Dialogue.

Requests for delegation media, including journalists, official photographers and videographers, should be submitted by Missions and Organizations enrolled in the e-Registration system, which is available through the UN's e-deleGATE portal (instructions).

Note that ALL media representatives must apply for accreditation in advance, as there will not be on-site accreditation.
