Objectives:
The overall objective of the interface meeting is to provide a forum for dialogue and increased collaboration between the African Union Economic Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) Peace and Security Sectoral Cluster Committee, the African Union Commission (AUC), RECs/RMs, and selected Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) on African peace and security issues.
The meeting also seeks to enhance awareness and understanding of the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA) amongst African CSOs working in the field of peace and security. Other outcomes include increased capacity of CSOs to mainstream key themes in peace and security frameworks at the continental and regional levels and the development of a roadmap to improve working relations between ECOSOCC, Peace and Security Council (PSC), AUC and RECs/RMs.
